The Lady is beautiful tonight

Tonight I looked up at the beautiful Full Moon. She looked so lovely flying high above me. I thanked Her for Her Blessings and asked she help my dogs to heal from their various hurts and injuries.

You see, to me the Moon represents the Lady Goddess in her Mother aspect. I try to listen to Her and honor Her. Sun represents the God in His various aspects, and there are times when He is the focus, but on the nights of the Esbats (New and Full Moons) it is the Goddess we think of and thank for Blessings given.

I didn't do a formal ritual, but I did sing Her a song.

Wicca, what it is, and what it isn't

Wicca is an Earth-based religion. We honor both God and Goddess, Lord and Lady. We try to live with Nature and not against it. Some don't eat meat, others do. Part of the Wiccan Rede says, "An it harm none, do what ye will." So as long as no one and nothing gets hurt, we do what we like. The Path is different for each person, but all Paths lead to Deity in whatever form that is to the follower.

Which leads us to what Wicca is not. Wicca isn't devil worship or satanism. Wiccans don't believe these beings exist, therefore can't worship them. We don't make human or animal sacrifices. That would be doing harm which is forbidden. The only thing we sacrifice would be things like ideas, a posession, sometimes even a habit we like but isn't good for us, such as smoking.

If you don't know much about the Wicca religion, I hope this has given you something to think about and educated you a bit. There's more to being Wicca than what I've mentioned here. Fire Moon Dreamer

This is my Wicca/Pagan name. This blog will be about my journey, and hopefully will inform and educate those who don't know what Wicca is.

I am in my late forties and have walked this path since around 1997. I'd performed spells even earlier than this. I have always tried to honor Nature, so I think I was always meant to find my way to where I am now.

I am not only studying for my first degree at Witch School, but I'm also taking a Tarot class. There's other classes as well, but for now, those are the main two I'm trying to work on.

In what non-existant spare time I have, I'm trying to learn how to play the Recorder (a musical instrament for those who didn't know). I'm also working on a book. I've been ordained, so I can also act as a counsler, perform marriages, officiate at funerals, Wiccanings (sort of a Pagan Baptisim, but not exactly, but that's as close as I can come to explaining it here).
